...  RPTs and SPDs must be plugged directly into a wall receptacle.  RPTs may be used to provide additional receptacles for student items that require less than 600 watts each.  Students should also ensure that they do not exceed the total watts capacity of the RPT. You do this by adding the watts re ...

... minimum lamp load is specified at 40 W which is equivalent to a 1.3 kΩ resistor load at 230 V(AC). Such a load would result in highly inefficient operation at low output power levels, since most energy is wasted in order to drive the dimmer, and not to produce light. The value of the demo board weak ...

Design of Single-Switch Inverters for Variable Resistance / Load

... In this paper, we present a methodology for synthesizing single-switch resonant inverters for operation at fixed frequency with variable load resistance (i.e., with load modulation). The proposed approach can be applied to both class E inverters and to higher-order tuned converters such as the class ...

Audio power

Audio power is the electrical power transferred from an audio amplifier to a loudspeaker, measured in watts. The electrical power delivered to the loudspeaker, together with its sensitivity, determines the sound power level generated (with the rest being converted to heat).Amplifiers are limited in the electrical energy they can amplify, while loudspeakers are limited in the electrical energy they can convert to sound energy without distorting the audio signal or being damaged. These power ratings are important to consumers finding compatible products and comparing competitors.
