Designing with A perfect operational amplifier does not exist, but

... There are five basic configurations to study and understand. First, there is the basic concept of an operational amplifier virtual earth to explain. If the input impedance to the op-amp is extremely large then the input current will be small i.e. nearly equal to zero. If the input current is zero th ...

... You don’t need to do an extensive study but you can still get the DIY-audio reward from building relatively simple tube amps or gain clones. So, maybe the future of quality sound reproduction is not that bleak after all. And an added advantage of tubes, for DIY, is that they’re not converting to SMD ...

Tube sound

Tube sound (or valve sound) is the characteristic sound associated with a vacuum tube-based audio amplifier. After introduction of solid state amplifiers, tube sound appeared as the logical complement of transistor sound, which had some negative connotations due to crossover distortion of early transistor amplifiers. The audible significance of tube amplification on audio signals is a subject of continuing debate among audio enthusiasts. Many electric guitar, electric bass, and keyboard players in several genres also prefer the sound of tube instrument amplifiers or preamplifiers.
