Low Cost 1W Isolated Power Supply Solution
Low Cost 1W Isolated Power Supply Solution

... The TPS61085’s frequency select pin, FREQ, allows to set the switching frequency of the device to 650 kHz (FREQ = low) or 1.2 MHz (FREQ = high). For this isolated power supply solution, the low frequency is preferred because higher switching frequencies cause more switching losses, EMI issues, and s ...

... III- Where are those oscillations coming from? Let’s have a closer look to the control amplifier. Equation 7 is true only when βA is very large. Since the β fraction is always inferior to one, this is equivalent to saying that the amplification factor A must be very big. In practice, the control amp ...

Tube sound

Tube sound (or valve sound) is the characteristic sound associated with a vacuum tube-based audio amplifier. After introduction of solid state amplifiers, tube sound appeared as the logical complement of transistor sound, which had some negative connotations due to crossover distortion of early transistor amplifiers. The audible significance of tube amplification on audio signals is a subject of continuing debate among audio enthusiasts. Many electric guitar, electric bass, and keyboard players in several genres also prefer the sound of tube instrument amplifiers or preamplifiers.
