3 Dimensional Cell Project
Due: Tuesday, December 6, 2011
(Projects are due in class on the due date. If you will not be here then
please arrange with Ms. Bruno ahead of time.)
Your Job: Create a 3 Dimensional Plant or Animal Cell
Your 3D cell can be made from cardboard, foam, playdough, a cereal
box or it can be edible (out of jello and candy, a cake decorated, etc).
These are only suggestions (more examples will be shown in class).
Use your imagination and be creative. Look around your house to
see what you can use.
--Cells that are drawn on a flat piece of paper will not be graded--
Definition of 3 Dimensional: Something having three dimensions.
Ex: width, length and depth
--Before turning in your project ask yourself: Does my project have
width, length and depth?
You need to include with your cell:
1. Have a key and have clearly labeled each item (attach the key
to your project)
2. Label your cell (Plant or Animal Cell) and include ALL items
3. Your project must be neat and at a 5th grade level.
Choose either Animal or Plant Cell:
Animal Cells need to include (13 items):
-Cell membrane
-Lysosome
-Nucleus
-Nucleolus
-Nuclear Membrane
-Vacuole
-Mitochondrion
-Centrosome
-Cytoplasm
-Rough Endoplasmic Reticulum
-Smooth Endoplasmic Reticulum
-Ribosomes
-Golgi Body
Plant Cells need to include (14 items):
-Cell wall
-Cell membrane
-Vacuole
-Nucleus
-Nucleolus
-Nuclear Membrane
-Chloroplast
-Mitochondrion
-Cytoplasm
-Centrosome
-Rough Endoplasmic Reticulum
-Smooth Endoplasmic Reticulum
-Ribosomes
-Golgi Body
