Adopter will be allowed the retain the equine and all right, title and interest to the
equine will be released to Adopter after the end of this three-month period.
Adopter understands that during this three-month period, Adopter may not sell,
give away, lend, lease, sell for slaughter, remove from the Adopter’s personal
supervision and control or move the equine from the address described herein,
except for emergencies, shows, trail rides and veterinary care, without the written
approval of the Society. During the three-month period, except in a case of
explainable emergency, shows, trail rides or other temporary situations, should
the equine not be at the location as stated herein upon inspection by a Society
representative, Adopter will immediately relinquish any rights or interest Adopter
may have in the equine and Adopter shall assist in every way possible to locate
and return said equine to the Society. Adopter will be responsible for any costs
incurred by the Society to acquire and transport said equine to a location
designated by the Society.
In the case of an intact male equine, Adopter agrees to geld the equine at the first
reasonable opportunity, taking into account the health status of the rescued
equine. Failure to geld a rescued equine shall serve as cause for return of the
equine to the custody of the Society.
Adopter agrees never to breed the above described equine for the duration of the

euthanize said equine for medical reasons, Adopter must provide a statement as to
the cause of said action to the Society signed by a licensed veterinarian.
Adopter agrees that, during this three month period, an authorized representative
of the Society may enter the property where said equine resides during normal
business hours, and without notice, to determine if all conditions of this Adoption
Contract are being complied with completely. Adopter understands that should a
violation of any of these terms found in this agreement be found during the threemonth period, and in the judgment of at least two members of the Board of
Directors of the Society such conditions represent a danger to the health and
welfare of the equine, Adopter hereby authorizes a representative of the Society to
enter the property at any time and without cause or warrant upon the land where
said equine resides and take immediate physical possession of said equine without
recourse from the Adopter. If the equine is determined by a veterinarian to be in a
debilitated or unhealthy condition on return due in part or in whole to Adopter’s
failure to comply with the terms of this contract, Adopter will be responsible for
and hereby agrees to reimburse the Society for all costs incurred to return the
equine to a healthy condition.
Adopter further agrees that, during this three-month period, Adopter will accept
all responsibility for any action or lien resulting from any action, directly or
indirectly involving said equine while it is in Adopter’s possession and under
2
Adopter’s care and control. Therefore, Adopter agrees and understands that
neither the Society nor its agents will be liable for any damages or injury caused
to Adopter or any third person by the equine once Adopter receives delivery of
the equine, including but not limited to damages or injuries caused by the fact that
the equine does not behave or perform in the manner Adopter expected. Further,
if any third person makes a claim against the Society or any of its agents as a
result of any conduct of the equine after Adopter has taken possession of the
equine, Adopter agrees to indemnify and hold the Society and/or its agents
