Unit 1: Grammar: verb be: present simple,(all forms). Verb have got: present simple
(all forms). Some, any. Interrogative pronouns :When?. Functions: talking about the
house, talking about possession, talking about dates.
Unit 2: Grammar: possessive case and plural nouns. Possessive adjectives (plural).
Adjective order. Qualifiers: a bit, (not) very ,quite, really. Functions : talking about
family, describing people ( physical appearance).
Unit 3: Grammar: present simple: like + ing, play do, and go + ing. Which? and
what?. Connectors: and, but, or. Object pronouns. So do I, neither do I, Oh, I do Oh I
don’t. Functions: talking abut likes and dislikes, agreeing and disagreeing.
Unit 4:Grammar: present simple (all forms). Expression with have (have lunch) . The
time. Both. Prepositions of time: at, on, in. Adverbs and expressions of frequency.
Functions: talking about daily activities and telling the time. Talking about lifestyle.
Unit 5: Grammar: present continuous (all forms) . Present continuous v Present
simple. Time expressions ( at the moment, these days, this
week/month/year…).Functions: talking about present activities . Talking about
temporary actions. Talking about the present.
Unit 6: Grammar: countable and uncountable nouns. How much?, How many?, there
is, there are, some, any, a few, a little, much, many, a lot of/ lots of, not enough.
Functions: talking about food and quantity, talking about diet.
Unit 7 : Grammar: would like (to), want (to), let’s…., shall we…?, what about/ How
about + ing, would refer to, would rather, can: ability, well, (not)very well.
Functions: making requests and offers, making, accepting and refusing suggestions,
talking about ability.
Unit 8: Grammar: verb be: past simple (all forms), past time expressions: ( last
night,…ago), prepositions of place: at, in, was were/born, can, could, may,:
permission and requests. Functions: talking about the past, talking about place and
date of birth, asking for permission and requests.
Unit 9: Grammar: past simple regular and irregular verbs (all forms). Interrogative
pronoun: How long?. Functions: talking about the past, talking about holidays.
Unit 10: Grammar: present simple: future (timetables), past simple: regular and
irregular verbs (all forms), it takes, subject/object questions: Who? What?,
sequencers(first, then, next,…), every/some/any/no compounds. Functions: using
public transport, talking about the past.
Unit 11: Grammar: whose and possessive pronouns, imperative, prepositions of
place and movement. Functions: asking about possession, asking for and giving
directions.
Unit 12: Grammar: comparative adjectives, superlative adjectives, is / are wearing.
Functions: making comparisons and expressing preferences, shopping for clothes,
describing clothes.
Unit 13: Grammar: be going to: future intensions. Present continuous: future
arrangements. Future time expressions. Be going to vs present continous vs present
simple. Functions: Talking about future intentions. Making and talking about
arrangements.
Unit 14: Grammar: be going to: predictions based on present evidence. What’s she
like? What does she like? Qualifiers: not enough, a little, a bit, fairly etc. Functions:
Describing personality. Talking about the weather. Making sure predictions.
