You would travel about 8,800 yards.
Expanded Notation:
4,000 + 400 + 10 + 5 + 4,000 + 400 + 10 + 5
= 8,830
You would travel 8,830 yards.
3. James and his father went to a baseball game. His ticket cost $6.50, and his father’s ticket cost
$10.75. Find the total cost.
Find $6.50 + $10.75.
