By simply snapping onto the busbars from the top,
the disconnectors can also be mounted onto T or
double T profiles as well as onto Power-Line systems

This button prevents the shock protection from
being inserted as long as the latching mechanism
hasn’t correctly latched into place.
Allaround safety
With the cable lug covers correctly
mounted, the enclosed disconnectors offer a high IP
30 degree of protection, even after a voltage test
using the 6 test holes in the withdrawable fuse carrier. The versions with SIGUT terminals are completely
safe from finger touch without any additional covers.
The large clear inspection window allows the type
and the operating statuses of the fuse links to be
quickly and reliably identified. Overreach and reacharound touch protection is already integrated into
the withdrawable fuse carrier up to 160 A; from
Size 1 shock protection is available as accessory.
At home on all busbars
All 3NP4 sizes are available for 40 mm or 60 mm
busbar center clearance. Busbars can either be 5 or
10 mm wide. For 10 mm busbars, for sizes 000 and
00, two lugs must be broken off at the three rear
busbar clamps. Busbar compensation is available
as accessory for mounting sizes 1 and 2 onto 5 mm
busbars (size 3 disconnectors cannot only be
snapped onto 5 mm busbars).
Quickly mounted …
All of these features reduce valuable mounting
and installation time. It also means that the correct
tightening torque of the screws doesn’t have to be
checked and adjusted. The mounting rail latching
mechanisms, integrated into the basic size 000 and
00 devices, also provide a clear financial benefit,
especially, where up to 160 A disconnectors are used
in larger unit quantities: additional screws, hooks,
intermediate plates or a second mounting rail are
not required.
Smart accessories for every
application
The auxiliary contacts, which fit all sizes, can be
subsequently retrofitted without taking up any
extra space.
The three-way terminal makes it easy to connect
up to 3 cables (e. g. for capacitor protection).
Several disconnectors can be fed in parallel using
the 3-phase busbars, connecting buses and feeder
terminals up to 225 A. Numerous masking frames
and mounting sets for SIKUS distribution boards or
the 8HP distribution system guarantee simple engineering and fast mounting and installation.

1NO/1NC signal outputs are used as standard. For
size 00, they are brought out to a connector socket
at the front, and for sizes 1 to 3, as double AMP flat
connector at the shock protection in the lower section
of the disconnector.
Either pre-assembled 1- or 3-m cables with strain
relief can be used as connecting cable for size 00.
These can then be easily inserted at the fuse monitoring using the mounted connectors. There are also
connector mounting sets for crimping (short-circuit
proof) cables.

Intelligent latching mechanism
This automatically adapts itself to busbar widths
between 5 and 30 mm, and it reliably latches into
place. This eliminates numerous versions and
complicated adjustments before mounting. There
is a small red button inside the switch, which,
especially from size 1, ensures that the disconnector
is really mounted onto the busbar to its endstop.

Fuse monitoring for 3NP4
From size NH00 onwards, all of the 3NP4 versions are
also available with fuse monitoring. This is realized
using 3RV SIRIUS circuit-breakers which are mounted
at the front in the center of the fuse carrier.
Flat connectors are always used for sizes 1–3.
The disconnector can then be fed as required from
either the top or the bottom, whereby voltages up to
690 V AC/220 V DC are possible. Furthermore, this
type of fuse monitoring is completely insensitive to
EMC disturbances and harmonics. These disturbances
The function of the 3RV can be tested at any time
using the test button provided.

melts completely so that there is no residual risk as a result of contacts which
may have welded together. When the disconnector is in the open position,
Furthermore, 3NP5 have an extremely high AC-23
switching capacity. The switching gases which are
formed are deflected into the disconnector using a
sophisticated arc chamber design, instead of being
discharged upwards and to the side. This means
that operating personnel and plant sections and
components in the vicinity are reliably protected.
there is a visible isolating gap, which is often demanded, e. g. for maintenance
purposes. And the optional mounted fuse monitoring offers additional security
– fuse switch disconnectors 3NP for the highest plant availability and safety.
Fuse monitoring:
To allow monitoring of the fuses in the disconnectors,
a permanently wired 3RV1 circuit-breaker is mounted
on the fuse carrier.
Fuses for your safety –
3NP4 and 3NP5 switch disconnectors
ble to use other disconnectors available on the market. But the fast closing and arc deflection chambers
of the 3NP5 come through with flying colors. 3NP5
provides the highest degree of safety for operating
personnel and the plant, as main switch with high
switching frequency and good AC-23 characteristics,
e.g. for motor loads.
Both of these ranges are climate-proof and correspond to IEC 60 947-3 and VDE 0660, Part 107.
The fuses can be clearly identified through the large
clear inspection window.
Matching masking frames and complete, TSK-tested
mounting sets are available both for the moldedplastic 8HP distribution system as well as for the
various SIKUS distribution boards.
2 series in the range – the optimum handle on
every application
The 3NP4 series (sizes NH000 to NH3) offer the
optimum solution for most applications. These range
from power distribution in residential and commercial buildings, through flexible distribution stations
up to power distribution systems in large industrial
plants. They are also admirably suited as main and
incoming feeder breakers in industry, for control
systems, as well as in motor feeders or as backup
protection for circuit-breakers. They have an integrated
lug for sealing which is integrated as standard.
This means that they can be used, without any
restrictions, in meter cabinets and incoming main
feeder boxes for buildings.
The rugged 3NP5 series (sizes NH00 to NH3)
provide reliable protection for all of the “tougher”
applications. This is especially true in mining, in the
steel industry, and also in the chemical industry,
where sulphur-laden, or aggressive ambient conditions or hazardous locations make it almost impossi-
The values for switching capacitors (e.g. for reactive
power compensation) were also tested (refer to
Catalog NSK, Section 12), and when used with SITOR
semiconductor or 3NE1 double-protection fuses,
3NP disconnectors can be used to protect soft starters,
AC drive converters and similar devices (tables with
tested device-fuse combinations are provided in the
NSK). Shock and vibration testing as well as special
earthquake tests guarantee that the 3NP can be used
in marine applications, nuclear power stations and
similar safety-critical plants.
high switching frequency for devices such as these.
The erosion electrodes additionally extend the lifetime of the main contacts. The lateral spring mechanism (= fast switching) eliminates any danger as
a result of incorrect operation, e.g. briefly actuating
the disconnector or switching which is too slow.
When the switch disconnector is in the ON position,
the circuit-braker poles are connected in parallel
with the fuses to be monitored. When the switch is
in the OFF position, the poles of the circuit-breaker
are dead.
The 3NP5 disconnector series (sizes NH00 to NH3)
for fixed installation can be quickly hung onto preinstalled mounting bolts. They can also be mounted
on the front of switchgear panels using the matching mounting sets or they can be mounted onto
60 mm busbar systems using 8US1 adapters.
The especially rugged design of this series (plastic
with a high resistance to heat, metal parts which can
be mechanically stressed), permits an unusually
The internal resistance of the circuit-breaker is so
high that it does not affect the protection given by
the monitored fuses.

Electronic fuse monitoring (EFM):
The electronic fuse monitoring system is also
mounted on the fuse carrier of the 3NP5. It works
whether or not a load is present. Fuse blowing can
be signalled to a switch control room by means of a
group indication (2NO contacts + 1NC contact).

Fuses for overload and short-circuit protection means: high short-circuit currents

can also be safely handled, favorably-priced backup protection, simple selectivity calculations and absolute reliability, even when short-circuits occur. The fuse
3NP5 – the rugged types for
the toughest applications
melts completely so that there is no residual risk as a result of contacts which
may have welded together.
Rated operational voltage Ue
Electronic fuse monitoring (EFM):
The electronic fuse monitoring system is also
mounted on the fuse carrier of the 3NP5. It works
whether or not a load is present. Fuse blowing can
be signalled to a switch control room by means of a
group indication (2NO contacts + 1NC contact).

This button prevents the shock protection from
being inserted as long as the latching mechanism
hasn’t correctly latched into place.
Allaround safety
With the cable lug covers correctly
mounted, the enclosed disconnectors offer a high IP
30 degree of protection, even after a voltage test
using the 6 test holes in the withdrawable fuse carrier. The versions with SIGUT terminals are completely
safe from finger touch without any additional covers.
The large clear inspection window allows the type
and the operating statuses of the fuse links to be
quickly and reliably identified. Overreach and reacharound touch protection is already integrated into
the withdrawable fuse carrier up to 160 A; from
Size 1 shock protection is available as accessory.
At home on all busbars
All 3NP4 sizes are available for 40 mm or 60 mm
busbar center clearance. Busbars can either be 5 or
10 mm wide. For 10 mm busbars, for sizes 000 and
00, two lugs must be broken off at the three rear
busbar clamps. Busbar compensation is available
as accessory for mounting sizes 1 and 2 onto 5 mm
busbars (size 3 disconnectors cannot only be
snapped onto 5 mm busbars).
Quickly mounted …
All of these features reduce valuable mounting
and installation time. It also means that the correct
tightening torque of the screws doesn’t have to be
checked and adjusted. The mounting rail latching
mechanisms, integrated into the basic size 000 and
00 devices, also provide a clear financial benefit,
especially, where up to 160 A disconnectors are used
in larger unit quantities: additional screws, hooks,
intermediate plates or a second mounting rail are
not required.
Smart accessories for every
application
The auxiliary contacts, which fit all sizes, can be
subsequently retrofitted without taking up any
extra space.
The three-way terminal makes it easy to connect
up to 3 cables (e. g. for capacitor protection).
Several disconnectors can be fed in parallel using
the 3-phase busbars, connecting buses and feeder
terminals up to 225 A. Numerous masking frames
and mounting sets for SIKUS distribution boards or
the 8HP distribution system guarantee simple engineering and fast mounting and installation.
3NP Fuse Switch Disconnector –
the Optimum Handle on Every Application

The circuit-breaker is connected in parallel to the
three main disconnector phases, and is tripped as
soon as at least one of three fuses blows. The voltage
is tapped at the handle lugs of the fuses which means
that only fuses with live grip lugs can be used.

hasn’t correctly latched into place.
Allaround safety
With the cable lug covers correctly
mounted, the enclosed disconnectors offer a high IP
30 degree of protection, even after a voltage test
using the 6 test holes in the withdrawable fuse carrier. The versions with SIGUT terminals are completely
safe from finger touch without any additional covers.
The large clear inspection window allows the type
and the operating statuses of the fuse links to be
quickly and reliably identified. Overreach and reacharound touch protection is already integrated into
the withdrawable fuse carrier up to 160 A; from
Size 1 shock protection is available as accessory.
At home on all busbars
All 3NP4 sizes are available for 40 mm or 60 mm
busbar center clearance. Busbars can either be 5 or
10 mm wide. For 10 mm busbars, for sizes 000 and
00, two lugs must be broken off at the three rear
busbar clamps. Busbar compensation is available
as accessory for mounting sizes 1 and 2 onto 5 mm
busbars (size 3 disconnectors cannot only be
snapped onto 5 mm busbars).
Quickly mounted …
All of these features reduce valuable mounting
and installation time. It also means that the correct
tightening torque of the screws doesn’t have to be
checked and adjusted. The mounting rail latching
mechanisms, integrated into the basic size 000 and
00 devices, also provide a clear financial benefit,
especially, where up to 160 A disconnectors are used
in larger unit quantities: additional screws, hooks,
intermediate plates or a second mounting rail are
not required.
Smart accessories for every
application
The auxiliary contacts, which fit all sizes, can be
subsequently retrofitted without taking up any
extra space.
The three-way terminal makes it easy to connect
up to 3 cables (e. g. for capacitor protection).
Several disconnectors can be fed in parallel using
the 3-phase busbars, connecting buses and feeder
terminals up to 225 A. Numerous masking frames
and mounting sets for SIKUS distribution boards or
the 8HP distribution system guarantee simple engineering and fast mounting and installation.
3NP Fuse Switch Disconnector –
the Optimum Handle on Every Application

The function of the 3RV can be tested at any time

may have welded together. When the disconnector is in the open position,
Furthermore, 3NP5 have an extremely high AC-23

sophisticated arc chamber design, instead of being
discharged upwards and to the side. This means
that operating personnel and plant sections and
