Course Overview:
Algebra II begins with a through review of the field axioms (properties) and number sets used
within Algebra I. This course places heavy emphasis on functions, their graphs, applications,
and notation used. Several types of functions are explored including, but not limited to: linear,
quadratic, exponential, logarithmic, rational algebraic, irrational algebraic, polynomial, and
trigonometric. Systems of equations and inequalities are also explored.
Additional Course Information:
Pre-requisite: B or above in Honors Algebra I or and A in Algebra I and teacher
recommendation.

Course Assessment:
Quarter grades will be based on the following weighting:

Semester grades will be determined by averaging the two quarter grades (40% each) and the
semester exam (20%).
Assessment policies:
Under no circumstance may a calculator be shared between students during any assessment.
Excused absence: Students have one day to make up work for each day of an excused absence.
Unexcused absence: Students will receive a zero for any assessments given on the day of an
unexcused absence.
There is a 10% penalty per day for any work turned in late.
Scholastic dishonesty is not tolerated and will result in a zero for the assignment.
