Honors Algebra II Syllabus for 2009 - 2010 Instructor: Class location: Class time: Availability: Phone: E-mail: Ms. Hagner W318 period 4, M – F, year flex and period 8, room W318 763-258-5502 [email protected] Course Overview: Algebra II begins with a through review of the field axioms (properties) and number sets used within Algebra I. This course places heavy emphasis on functions, their graphs, applications, and notation used. Several types of functions are explored including, but not limited to: linear, quadratic, exponential, logarithmic, rational algebraic, irrational algebraic, polynomial, and trigonometric. Systems of equations and inequalities are also explored. Additional Course Information: Pre-requisite: B or above in Honors Algebra I or and A in Algebra I and teacher recommendation. Textbook: Algebra and Trigonometry; Paul Foerster, Addison-Wesley replacement cost: $70 Required Materials: textbook notebook/3-ring binder writing implement graph paper TI-83+ or TI-84 graphing calculator Class Expectations: Be disciplined from within – take ownership of your education and your actions. Assessment policies: Under no circumstance may a calculator be shared between students during any assessment. Excused absence: Students have one day to make up work for each day of an excused absence. Unexcused absence: Students will receive a zero for any assessments given on the day of an unexcused absence. There is a 10% penalty per day for any work turned in late. Scholastic dishonesty is not tolerated and will result in a zero for the assignment. Course Content: .
