Navigate to StudentAccess/McDonell/Animation and copy the SoundFX
folder and the bouncing ball flash file to your local drive.
Open the bouncing ball flash file from your local drive.
Double click on the ball to open the Ball Bounce symbol in your Timeline
window.
Insert a new layer in the Ball Bounce timeline window. Rename the layer
SoundFX
From the File menu select Import/Import to Library.
Navigate to your SoundFX folder on your local drive and select “BoingSith_Mas-479”.
Insert a Blank Keyframe at frame 13 of the SoundFX layer.
Drag “Boing-Sith_Mas-479” from the Library to the stage on Frame 13.
Press Ctrl+Enter to view your animation with sound.

Click on “Scene 1” at the top of the Timeline window.
Insert a new layer and label it “IntroAudio”
From the File menu select Import/Import to Library.
Navigate to your SoundFX folder on your local drive and select “WeeeeDeflux_D-204”.
Press Ctrl+Enter to view your animation with sound.
Increase the amount of ball bounces.
Each ball bounce takes 25 frames to complete. To double the amount of bounces
we will double the amount of frames in the Scene 1 timeline.

Select the keyframe at frame 25 on the “Ball Motion” layer.
Click and drag the selected keyframe to frame 50.
Press Ctrl+Enter to view your animation with sound.
Notice the IntroAudio only plays at the very beginning. It is a little bit loud
compared to the rest of the audio.
Edit the volume of an imported audio clip.

Select the keyframe at Frame 1 of the IntroAudio Layer.
In the Properties Panel under the name of the audio file, click on the edit
button.

Grab the square located at the top left of the waveform box and move it down
to just above ½ volume.
You can test your volume by pushing the play arrow at the bottom of the Edit
Envelope window. When you think it’s right…
Press Ctrl+Enter to view your animation with sound.
Now experiment with different sounds and change the amount of bounces that the
ball makes.
Save your file to your local hard drive.
Congratulations! You’ve added Audio to your Flash animation.
