CAR/MOTORBIKE/BICYCLE LOANS AND ALLOWANCES Cars Loans - Authorised essential or casual users can apply for a loan of up to £9000 repayable over maximum of 5 years. Mileage - Authorised users can claim either 451 - 999cc or 1000 - 1199cc. If they are an essential user, they will also receive a lump sum and will get a car parking permit, if appropriate. Pool - There are 2 vehicles based at Denmark Road, Carshalton, which can be booked out by Environment and Leisure employees for journeys during the working day. (Phone Rob Gandolfi on x 6137 or 6138.) The Council is a member of the Urbigo car-use scheme, with two cars available for any employee to book out, based at the Civic Offices (phone Linda Jedda on x6247 to register first). Motorbikes/scooters/mopeds Loans - Authorised users can apply for a loan of up to £2000. Mileage - Can claim 451 - 999cc. Bicycles Loans - Any employee can apply for a loan of between £50 and £500, repayable over 1 or 2 years, as long as they use the bike regularly to and from work. Loan can be used for purchase of bike and safety equipment. Mileage - Can claim same mileage as their car cc if they have one, otherwise 451 - 999cc. Pool - There is a pool of bicycles at Denmark Road and at the Civic Offices, which can be booked out by any employees for journeys during the working day. The contact for Denmark Road is Rob Gandolfi (x6137 or 6138), and there are 3 bikes (including one battery-assisted bike), 3 cycle helmets and some panniers, plus 3 cycle storage sheds. The contact for Civic Offices is Jeremy Westlake on x5306, and there are 3 bikes and helmets available, plus a cycle storage shed for employees’ own bikes.
