World-wide presence
In 2011 SIG Combibloc achieved a turnover of 1,450 million Euro. The company is
part of the New Zealand based Rank Group. SIG Combibloc draws on the skills and
experience of more than 4,870 employees in more than 40 countries.
Packaging plants and subsidiaries located throughout the world enable the company to
respond quickly and effectively to local customer needs.
Natural protection
Carton packs from SIG Combibloc protect the quality of food and drinks. They ensure
that the taste, nutrients and vitamins of products are preserved. Likewise, carton packs
from SIG Combibloc preserve the environment.
Because as the name suggests, they are made predominantly out of cardboard, which
is manufactured from wood, a renewable raw material. Using renewable resources
reduces the use of fossil raw materials such as oil. And because trees absorb CO2 and
release oxygen while they are growing, sustainably managed forests also help to
protect the climate.
Organisation
The SIG Combibloc Group is organised on a regional basis. The four regions Americas, Europe, Middle East and Asia Pacific - are responsible for operational
activities.
A lean global management system defines the basic strategy and key framework
conditions. With this simple, clear structure, we work right alongside the customer,
thus ultimately providing the best value creation and optimal service for our
customers.

Carton pack
Combibloc EcoPlus
Aseptic carton pack for liquid foods that has a special new composition generating 28
per cent less CO2 - compared to the same-format carton pack from SIG Combibloc.
Drinksplus
In drinksplus, we have developed a way of filling drinks containing healthy, natural
chunks of fruit, vegetables or even cereal grains into carton packs under sterile
conditions - using SIG Combibloc's standard filling machines for milk products and
non-carbonated soft drinks.
Combishape
This carton pack series frees the aseptic carton packaging from the constraints of the
rectangular shape. Visually, combishape is an entirely new type of carton pack.
Combishape is based on an innovative new design concept. The carton pack consists
of a number of components that are shaped into the final form in the filling machines
at the customer's premises. The basic elements of the carton pack are the base, sleeve
and top. Added to this is the three-part shapeTwist screw cap. The customer receives
the packaging material not as prefabricated flat sleeves, but as a roll. This undergoes
further processing inside the filling machine.
Food Packaging
Aseptic combibloc carton packs, and the retortable combisafe carton packs for foods
with a particularly high particulate content, ensure food products are optimally
protected and retain their high quality over a prolonged period. Carton packs are
among the most environmentally friendly packaging solution available for long-life
foods, because they are made up to 75 per cent from wood, a renewable resource. As a
result, they’ve been shown to have a significantly smaller environmental footprint
than all other packaging alternatives for long-life food products.
