Money
Some prices are dearer
than others and
therefore need more
money (cheaper / less)
We get change if we
give more money than
the cost of an item(s)
Discussion – how we use money in everyday lives
(wants and needs). In play situations, using records,
receipts, order forms as a stimulus for money
activities, e.g. post office, cinema tickets, travel agent,
shops, bank, ticket centre the Pound Shop. In real life
contexts – shopping experiences, visit to bank, post
office. Talk about how we keep money safe and how
we can save our money.
Range of materials for imaginative play, e.g. coins,
bank cards, credit card machine, notes, cash register.
