Greek/Roman Mythology Presentation
I. The Presentation (70 points) will take place on
You will give a presentation of your god/goddess/hero telling the class the important
information about the god/goddess/hero that you have researched.
Research the figure, using the following sources from WheelerLibrary.com:
 A book from the Media Center
 Encyclopedia Mythica
 Theoi Greek Mythology
 Other approved online sites may be used as additional sources (see Mrs. Nelson for
PRIOR approval)
Included in your presentation should be:
 Both the Greek and Roman name(s) for your figure (if both exist)
 Description of the physical appearance of the figure
 Area of dominance, rule, or specialty
 Symbols that have become closely associated with the figure
 Explains/demonstrates character traits of god, including any idiosyncrasies
 Explains status or position of their god
 Tells at least 1 story common to their god
 Explains how the other gods view their god and treat him/her (friends? enemies?)
 Explains how their god treats humans
 Explains where their god comes from (including any family relations to other gods)
 Provides some other interesting anecdote about their god
 Works cited page at the end stating your sources in MLA format
II. The Mask (30 points) Due on the day of presentation.
You will construct a mask depicting your god/goddess/hero. The mask should reflect your
subject through appearance (as described in your research), color, symbols, etc.
 The mask can be made of any material you wish.
 A basic, plain mask can be purchased from Michael’s craft store. You can then paint,
color, glue, etc., to personalize it.
EXTRA CREDIT:
Turned in separately is a full-page picture of the god/goddess/hero
 The Greek and Roman name of the figure should be at the top
 This picture should conform to what you have learned from your
research
 The picture should be in color
 The picture should be drawn, painted freehand for full credit
 A colored online picture may be copied; however be sure to
include the site at the bottom of your picture and include the
source on your Works Cited page
