Amazing Method to Correct Near-Sightedness
Introduction to Eye Specialist – Doctor D
Author: Thousand Miles
Eye Doctor Nick Despotidis
is famous in New Jersey for
correcting near-sight without using
eye glasses or surgery. Because his
Greece last name is not easy to
pronounce, a smart person began
calling him by the first character of
his last name, from then on everyone
calls him Dr. D.
Dr. D has an average height and short hair. His eyes show his seriousness but
kind manner. He never shows a doctor’s rudeness, nor shows off to his patients because
he is famous. It is my pleasure to know Dr. D, but this is also a result of my no-way-out.
Several years ago, my son’s eye sight is getting worse and non-stop. First year
the near-sight was at -150, the 2nd year it became -300. It got so bad in the 3rd year that
our original eye doctor could not measure his near-sight. He told me that he could not
find the correct eye glasses for my son. When I heard the news, I felt like a bucket of icy
water pour onto my head. My son was only 12, how can it be that bad? He said, “I’d
refer you to a college professor, she will be able to find out what is good for your son”.
He wrote us a referral letter, and pushed us out of his office.
On paper, the eye professor is very eligible; she is in charge of an eye research
laboratory in Rutgers University in New Jersey. Walk into her lab is like walk into the
future world, there are modern and special equipment everywhere. When she saw my
son, her eyes popped and looked like she was looking at a lab rabbit. She dropped
different kind of medicine into my son’s eyes, and tested him with many different
instruments. The instruments stimulate my son’s eyes with bright lights; she then
analyzed the data with computer. She gave us a report, and said, “This is probably his
eye sight, however I’m not quite sure how accurate it is. Why don’t you try it first? If it
is not good, we’ll change it”. While the professor walked away, I looked at my son, his
eyes are red and filled with tears, and he became a real “rabbit”.
I took “rabbit” home, and followed the report from the professor and got the
“rabbit” a new pair of glasses. However no matter what we tried, “rabbit” was never
comfortable. We’re looking for a good doctor again, and finally a friend introduced us to
Dr. D. We were told that he is a very good eye doctor, and with amazing technology. He
is one of the few doctors in New Jersey who are certified, and allowed to perform GVSS.
GVSS stands for “Gentle Vision Shaping System”. GVSS temporarily corrects
near-sight without eye glasses or surgery. A GVSS lens is like contact lens, however the
philosophy is different. Contact lens correct eye sight by adjusting the focal point, GVSS
corrects eye sight by using the shape of “contact lens” to correct the shape of the cornea.
The cornea is corrected slowly and painlessly, so is the focal point. Contact lens is worn
at day time; GVSS is worn at night while sleeping. Because GVSS is worn at night, there
are no glasses at day time, therefore no interference while playing soccer, sweating,
swimming, or even allergy. Since GVSS is correcting the eyes, it slows down,
sometimes eliminating, the near-sightedness from getting worse. Hearing such a good
result, we’re ready to try GVSS.
With hesitation, we found Dr. D. We told him the experience with the eye
professor. He was surprised and said, “Let me try”. Quickly and accurately he found my
son’s eye sight. However he said that he would not recommend GVSS for my son, since
his eyes shows irregular shape. We never thought that a GVSS expert would not
recommend and try to sell it, however we also appreciate his honest and professional
attitude. Since now we heard so many good things about GVSS, we urged Dr. D to try it
on my son, and finally he agreed.
After wearing it for a few nights, one morning, my son removed the GVSS lens,
and screamed: “My God! How come the world is so clear?” He excitedly is reading the
book titles on the book shelf from far away; the little dots on the clock; and the small
prints on a newspaper. Dr. D checked his eyes, his eye sight was even better than 20/20!
Dr. D’s face shows a satisfactory smile.
Since Dr. D gave us his home phone, cell phone, and email address, whenever
there was a question, we can always find him on time, therefore everything went
smoothly. However on the 2nd years during spring, my son’s eyes swollen like a peach
because of allergy. We were worry if GVSS could be worn. Dr. D never let us down, he
prescribed a medicine, after a few drops, allergy is gone. More surprised is that after that,
he never had allergy again. We felt that Dr. D is quite amazing, however he said, “There
is nothing amazing, just use the right medicine.”
From then on, eye glasses stop bothering my son, his near-sight also stops getting
worse. He does not need glasses for any activities: including ball playing, book reading,
swimming, violin, etc. Everything becomes convenience: without surgery, without
glasses, super eye sight better than cats, during class he does not need to be on the front
row. Such good correction method, why are parents still misunderstand, or hesitate?
Probably there are 2 reasons: (1) they think this is new technology, they can not fully
trust it. (2) Not too many doctors know the technology; therefore there is not enough
advertisement.
In fact, GVSS was invented 40 years ago. After many years of research and
testing, the technology has reached the degree of maturity. Those first generation kids
who used GVSS, now all are adults. One of them is a police officer, without GVSS, he
would never pass the eye exam. His career is successful because of GVSS. Because
GVSS is very safe, United States Food & Drug Administration (FDA) officially certified
GVSS lens in 2002. ABC News had a special report too of this new certification of old
technology.
There are not many doctors with GVSS certification, and there are only a few
specialty manufacturers able to produce GVSS lens. An eye doctor needs special training
before he/she can set up GVSS lens, and different manufacturers require different
trainings. Dr. D began GVSS studying/testing in 1994; he received certifications from
ALL manufacturers, becoming an all around doctor. He said, “Most doctors only have
one certificate, and cannot use lens from another manufacturers. However I feel that each
manufacturer has its own advantage, in order to use the right lens, I am not afraid of
inconvenience and get all the available certificates.” Each patient of Dr. D is assured of
getting the best correction lens, regardless manufacturer. Those early GVSS patients
include two of Dr. D’s sons, when a doctor is able to treat his own sons with GVSS, it
shows that he trusts this technology and he has enough experience.
One of the earliest patients was only 6 years old. Now she is 13 years old and has
used it for 7 years. Before GVSS, she could not see anything on the black board in
school. Now not only she recovers, actually her eye sight is better than before. Because
she does not need glasses in the day time, she has lots of freedom. Recently she wrote to
me: “Seven years of experience taught me that GVSS is safe and very convenient,
especially to little patients”
Dr. D has many Chinese patients. Chinese children study very hard, therefore eye
sight becomes a common problem. Dr. D believes that education is good; however we
have to watch out for the health of our eyes too. It is everyone’s responsibility to protect
a kid's eye sight. He is willing to help Chinese students with free consultation, and test if
a child is suitable to test GVSS lens. Dr. D’s office is named EyeCare Professionals, at
1777 Kuser Road, Hamilton, NJ 08690. For more information, please call 609.581.5788

advanced eye technology.
