I am writing as the [owner/manager] of the [insert business] in your constituency
and would like to make you aware of a new Early Day Motion which has been
tabled in support of the tourism industry.
EDM 40 calls on the Government to introduce a sector-specific VAT reduction for
accommodation and attractions, which if reduced to 5%, would help boost UK GDP
by up to £4 billion a year and increase tax revenue by £3.9 billion over 10 years. It
would also create 123,000 new jobs and halt the long term decline in the UK
tourism’s balance of payments.
