1. Let’s start with one of the most famous theatres in the United Kingdom: The Globe. Here
you have a video where William Shakespeare himself explains what the theatre was like
and how performances were done. Watch this video and then answer the questions below.

4. Nowadays the Globe has been rebuilt in London and lots of events take place all year
round. Here you have the brochure of this season’s events. Have a look at it!
5. Imagine you are going to London this year and that you are planning to visit The Globe.
Now, you have to write 5 sentences ( each including a relative clause) where you describe
5 events you would like to attend.
Example: I would like to attend the performance of The Tempest which is inspired by the first
English colonies in the West Indies.
6. In this task you have learnt a lot of things about The Globe. It’s your turn now to write
about a famous building in your city or country. You need to write a short composition
about it. Write around 100-120 words. Make sure you include the following points:
a) Introduction: why you have chosen it and why it is important.
b) Origins and history of the building.
c) Conclusion: what it means to your city/town/ country.
7. Now you need to record yourself talking about this building to see how your pronunciation
