the instructor in all lab activities, and giving and grading lab practicals. This course is designed to provide a basic
practical understanding of patient care procedures used in physical therapy practice including: body mechanics,
therapeutic positioning, patient ambulation, transfer techniques, palpation, soft tissue mobilization, range of

Description:
 Assisted the course instructor in the lab portion of this course. This included leading the lab as needed, assisting
the instructor in all lab activities, and giving and grading lab practicals. This course covered the physical therapy
treatment of orthopedic conditions in various patient populations. Students learned the principles of physical
therapy management using basic physical assessment, therapeutic exercise, and bracing/orthoses/prosthetics for
various orthopedic pathologies and populations. Emphasis was placed on the integration of exercise regimes into
patient care plans as designed by a physical therapist for a variety of patient populations including geriatric and
pediatric. Documentation skills related to the course content area were included.
