Ruth Langridge, received her Ph.D. from the University of California, Berkeley, Department of Environmental Science, Policy and Management. She is currently Associate Researcher with the Center for International, Global and Regional Studies and Continuing Lecturer in Legal Studies at the University of California, Santa Cruz. Her research focuses on California water law and policy and specifically on the processes and relations that enable access to water and create resilience to water scarcity; on the legal and institutional issues related to water supply planning and groundwater management; and on water supply security under climate change. Her research team’s paper for the 2012 Third California Vulnerability and Adaptation Assessment examined the drought planning strategies of five California water agencies. She is currently serving as a member of the CA Department of Water Resources Climate Change Technical Advisory Committee and recently participated in the Governor’s Office of Research and Planning meetings on groundwater and climate change.
