• Customerfraudhasemergedasawaragainstcompanies
andisadaptedtospecificsituations.Surprisingly,ethics
haslittletodowithsometypesofcustomerfraud.Rather,
insomecasesthecustomer’smotivationisaneedtoget
even.Somefraudstersbelievetheyhaveanobligationto
commitfraud;theydoittoretaliateagainstwhatthey
perceiveasunethicalactsthatbusinessescommitagainst
them.
• Abasicexampleofcustomerfraudistheft.Thisincludes
outrighttheftofgoods,butcanalsoincludeforgery,
counterfeitmoneyanddeceittoobtainmorecashback.An
