Biostatistics 659: Design of Biomedical Studies, Spring 2007. Co-taught with Dr. Heitjan.
I gave two lectures on Clinical Trial, including Interim analysis plans, Data Safety Monitoring Board (DSMB)
meetings, and prediction of event times in randomized clinical trials.
Epidemiology 523: Inference and Linear Regression, Fall 2007.
I gave five STATA lab lectures (each lecture lasts 1.5 hours) to 12 MSCE students on how to use STATA software
for data management, data analysis, sample size/power calculations, and generating graphics.

Special Topics in Ophthalmology 2009-2010: A course designed to teach medical students, fellows and
junior faculties interested in vision-related research (total of about 10 attendees). The topics cover study design,
data analysis, interpretation of results, cases studies in clinical trials and epidemiology studies in
Ophthalmology. I taught 5 sessions that covers data analysis of correlated data, and prediction models.
MSCE Independent Study, Fall 2009: Co-instructor for Gil Binenbaum’s MSCE independent study project
on “The Postnatal Weight Gain Measurement for ROP Risk Stratification.” Meet weekly about 2 hours/week to
teach him on literature review of prediction model of ROP and performed the development of a prediction
model using data from a clinical trial of ROP by using SAS.
Biostatistics and Epidemiology in Ophthalmology, Fall 2010: I am director for this course, which was
designed for ophthalmology residents and fellows (total of 12+). I gave 4 hours presentation on the
“Biostatistics for conduct eye research” and one case study.
Biostatistics 659, Spring 2011: Design of Biomedical Studies, Spring 2011. Co-taught with Dr. Heitjan.
I gave two lectures (total of 4 students) on Clinical Trial, including Data monitoring in clinical trials (Interim
analysis, Data Safety Monitoring Board (DSMB)), and predictions in clinical trials.
