XPS Safety Instructions
An intense flux of X-radiation can be generated within the instrument. Shielding is more
than adequate to limit the dose rate outside the instrument to safe levels. Do not run the
X-ray guns with the gate valve open.
This instrument is licensed and registered with the State of New Hampshire Department
of Health and Human Services Radiological Health Section and should only be operated
by qualified personnel. In order to be trained to operate this instrument, please see the
University Instrumentation Center Staff.
