Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart
(1756- 1791)
W.A. Mozart was born in Salzburg (Austria) into a very musically gifted family.
His father was already famous and tought him from the age of 3 how to play the
piano and the violine.
At the age of 5 he already started to compose and performed in concerts at the
age of 6. Therefor he was and is still called a „Wunderkind“- a „Genius child“.
Even as a child he travelled around in Europe to give concerts for the courts and
public academies.
As an adult he had respectable positions in the Austrian music world and composed
concerts for all kinds of instruments, operas, synfonies, church music,
chamber music and songs.
He married Constanze and they got 6 children, but only two of them survived their
early years.
Although he became a very famous artist and composer even in his time, he was not
very lucky with money and never became really rich.
At the age of 35 he died very poor after a long time of sickness and was burried in
a pauper´s grave in Vienna.
