Untying Food Aid Aid for Agriculture Untying Food Aid The Big Difference Delivery Time: From Canada 11-19 weeks Local Purchase 4-6 weeks Cost: at least $63 per ton cheaper In 2008 the Canadian government untied all food aid, thus reducing delivery times and purchase and transportation costs. Last year – Foodgrains Bank saved more than $2 million through untied food aid. Climate Change: What can YOU do? Write to your MP Send a personal, handwritten letter Encouraging Canada to: • Make a new financial commitment to help developing countries address climate change • Allocate more of this money to adaptation activities Email your MP Make the letter your own.
