We can find the mean, median, mode and range, etc. Types of Quantitative Data Discrete Data can take only certain values such as whole numbers. E.g.. The number of desk in each classroom. 28 29 30 31 32 But NOT values in-between. We can’t have 31.5 desks. 2 Types of Data – Quantitative (2/3) Types of Quantitative Data Continuous Data: Can take any value in a certain range. E.g.. The height of students in each class. 168cm 179cm 150cm 141cm 184cm And values in-between. We can have 151.5cm in height. 3 Types of Data – Categorical (3/3) Data can be counted/classified into groups We can’t find the mean, median and range. We can only find the Mode.
