• It is important to know how to write a

apostrophe in a contraction replaces
letters that you take out. For example:

Possessive – It’s MINE!!!
When you are talking about possessive,
you are talking about ownership or
something belonging to someone.
There are two rules to remember when
you are making nouns possessive:
1. To make a singular nouns possessive, add
‘s
2. To make a plural noun THAT ALREADY ENDS IN “S”
possessive, add only an apostrophe.
