Transcript
The 5 Pillars of Islam
Muslims have 5 duties which they
try to carry out to be part of the
Muslim community.
Shahadah
Believing and saying the
words “there is no god but
Allah, Muhammad is his
prophet.”
Salat
Praying 5 times a day facing
Mecca. Should wash before
praying and must use prayer
mat. Must kneel with the
forehead placed on the ground
in front. This shows servitude
to Allah.
Zakat
Each year, Muslims should
give a percentage of their
savings to the poor. This
way their wealth is “made
pure.”
Sawn
No food or drink
during daylight hours
during the month of
Ramadan.
Hajj
Muslims must make the
pilgrimage to Mecca at
least once in a life, if it
can be afforded and the
person is in good health.
