4.3 Triangle Congruence by ASA and AAS
• You can prove that two triangles are congruent
without having to show that all corresponding
parts are congruent.
– You will prove triangles congruent by using one pair
of corresponding sides and two pairs of
corresponding angles.
Angle-Side-Angle
• If two angles and the included side of one triangle are
congruent to two angles and the included side of
another triangle, then the two triangles are congruent.
Included Side
Using ASA
• Which two triangles are congruent by ASA? Explain.
• Triangle SUV is congruent to triangle NEO.
Angle-Angle-Side
• If two angles and a nonincluded side of one triangle
are congruent to two angles and a nonincluded side of
another triangle, then the triangles are congruent.
More Practice!!!!!
• Homework – Textbook p. 238 # 8 – 9, p.
239 #16 – 18, p. 243 #1 – 15.
