A CELEBRATION OF Beauty,
Strength, and Resilience
Project
Crowning
Glory
Lou Outlaw - Photographer
Crowning Glory, a fine art photography exhibit celebrates the beauty,
strength, and resilience of 13 African American women diagnosed with
cancer. Residing throughout Middle Tennessee, they range in age from
the early 30’s to the mid 80’s. They come from diverse socioeconomic
backgrounds. They are wives, mothers, widows, and single women.
They are extraordinary women!
Photographer Lou Outlaw sensitively captures the dignity and courage
of the 13 women in these stunning portraits. The portraits show there is
life and beauty beyond a cancer diagnosis.
Parthenon Chapter - The Links, Inc. celebrated these 13 phenomenal
women in a life changing makeover day through Project Crowning Glory,
The 13 women were pampered and treated to professional wig selection
advice and hair-styling; make-up application; choices in chic clothing;
and an exclusive photo session.
This traveling exhibit is presented to educate the public and increase
community awareness about cancer, especially breast cancer, and to
spread the word about the importance of physicals, mammograms and
breast self-examinations.
