Nutrition
for the Cancer Patient
Good nutrition can help patients with the effects of cancer treatment. Receiving the nutrients
the body needs to maintain body weight and strength, while nourishing healthy body tissues
and fighting-off infections, is an essential part of cancer treatment.
However, obtaining adequate nutrition is often a challenge.
If you or a loved one is dealing with the effects of cancer, you are invited to join
University of Illinois Extension Nutrition and Wellness Educator, Diane Reinhold, and the
Healing Pathways-Cancer Resource Center, for this hour-long workshop. Participants will
gain an understanding of the dietary challenges faced by those living with cancer, learn the
role diet plays during the cancer treatment, and collect fun recipes.
