Double Aux Drive
• Hybrid vehicles -> Electric
auxilliaries
• Several of these used
intermittently
• Can be combined, like air
compressor and A/C
compressor. One motor
drive only needed.
• Benefit: - Lower system
cost, higher system
efficiency.
Double Aux Drive
• Goal:
• To design a combined electrically driven
A/C and Air compressor system with an
energy optimization strategy.
Aux Connector for a hybrid vehicle
• The hybrid vehicle electric power system has at least
two voltage levels, 12/24 V and the traction voltage
(e.g 300 V).
• The 12/24 V system is chassis ground.
• The traction voltage is floating.
• There is a DC/DC converter in between.
• Aux loads can be connected to both the 12/24 V and
the traction voltage.
Aux Connector
• Goal:
• Design two connectors, one for the 12/24 V and one for
the traction voltage, that guarantees safe connection
ofxternal auxilliaries. A sensing ciruit, earth fault
detection and mechanical design should be employed.
