By: Ethan Wait and Matthew Romano Interesting facts about yaks! • Yaks can also be called ox • They’re almost extinct • It chases flies with its tails • People deliver mail on yaks in some countries • They’re scientific name is Bos Grunes What Yaks look like… • • • • • Black and brown hair Usually 6 feet tall Very bulky Weighs 1,200 lbs Very heavy tails What do yaks eat… • Yaks are herbivores • They eat most grasses • They eat lichens and other plants • The hard things they eat are branches, shrubs, leaves and trees How do yaks behave… • Yaks live in herds • The herds have about 10-30 animals • They have very sticky sweat • Yaks can make milk • Yaks first came from Asia then spread to China • We used wikipedia, Ask and National Geographic for this project!
