In Sweden we celebrate
Christmas on the 24th.
Families come together,
eat, drink, and give
presents in the evening.
On April 30th every year
we create large bonfires.
It’s a very old tradition of
Spring-cleaning.
There is also the
story about witches
travelling to the
“Blue-mountain” to
meet with the
Devil…
June 6th is the
Swedish National
Day celebration.
This day was
until 1982 a
celebration of the
Swedish flag.
In the end of
June one of
Sweden’s
biggest feasts
takes place –
Midsummer.
Midsummer is a celebration of the
return of light after a long, dark winter.
