Kangaroos are herbivores and only eat plants. They eat very slow
and it takes up to 14 hours a day.
They eat grass ,herbs ,leaves
Kangaroos have got short , soft fur.
Kangaroos weight up to 250 kilograms and have large feet and
short, powerful back feet.
They have swivelling ears.
They can be found in Australia in open grass land, woodland or forest
areas.
They are not nervous around humans, so can also be found in parks,
garden and even on golf courses.
1. Kangaroos can’t walk backwards.
2. In just one bound a kangaroo can jump 10 metres , which is almost the
width of a tennis court.
3. In Australia there are exactly the same number of kangaroos as there are
humans-23 millions of each.
Koala Bear

KOALAS have light grey and
brown fur and it feels like
sandpaper!!
Koala bears like to eat plants there favourite food is eucalyptus leaves.
They use their sharp teeth to grind and the koalas are a family like kangaroos
The koala lives in the wild and
spends its life under the canopy of
the trees. They love to climb.
The koala are a
family of
kangaroos.
Cheetah
The cheetah has golden fur to make them warm. Their spots are 3cm
big. They always have the claws out for other animals to kill. The
cheetahs tail is 75cm long to keep them balance.
The cheetah love to eat meat. The favourite food is Thompsons gazelle.
It can eat up to 3kg in one day. They only drink every 3 or 4 days. They
hunt during the day. They can run at high speeds.
They live on a tree or in the long grass. They also like climbing
so no one can find them. The cheetah’s territory can be up to
1500km square.
A cheetahs territory can be up to 15000km. It would take a
Human 32 hours to walk around the edge of a territory. Cheetah
cubs are very vulnerable and only 5 percent survive [one in to 20 ].

• A tarantula has very clever legs it can use them to
smell and to taste.
• A tarantula can live for 30 years.
DIET
• With there fangs they suck their food up.
• Tarantulas eat lizards, crickets, beetles and grasshoppers.
HABITAT
• Tarantulas live and hide in caves filled
with cobwebs.
Something special
• Some people like to keep tarantulas as pets in their homes instead of
gerbils or cats.
The Great White Shark

The great white shark is huge and very powerful. It has over 300 teeth.
It can weigh up to 2000 kilograms and is as long as a four wheeled car.
Sharks live in seas around China, Russia, New Zealand, Africa, Ice land
and the Mediterranean.
They eat large fish like tuna, the sharks favourite food is seal!
After eating a seal they don’t need to eat anything for 2 months.
It can smell a tiny drop of blood in the water 5 kilometres away.
Zebras are white and black and they have a
tail with a tuft and they have a striped coat.
They are 1.8 meters long. They have long
powerful legs that can kick out strongly when
they attack. Zebras also have a good sense of
smell and excellent hearing.
Zebras are herbivores so they only eat plant.
They use their teeth to grind and chew it to a
pulp. So They just chew and walk. However
these zebras spend 80% of their walking and
hours eating.
Zebras live in open grasslands called
Savannah. They happily share its habitat and
grazing areas with many other creatures such
as elephants, cattle and antelopes.
Zebras do not wash in clean water, they prefer
a mud bath. A zebra foal can just walk for 20
minutes after being born and an hour later it
can run.

Killer Whale are smooth black and
have a white underbelly. Their teeth are 10
times longer than ours!!
Killer whales like to eat any sea dwelling creatures.
They hunt together for their prey.
This is where killer whales live, in coastal
waters. They are not afraid to come close
to land!
Guess how long killer whales can hold their breath for?
Sloths have brownish , grey hair and long legs and a very small head. Most sloths
measure up to 50 and 75 cm long. The best known species are the two toed sloths
and the three toed sloths.
They are herbivores so they eat plant. Also they eat berries, leaves and flowers.
Some species have been seen to eat insects.
The sloths live in rainforests of central and southern America. They are happiest in
braches of trees and hardly ever come to the ground.
A sloth has very few muscles in its body. This means it cannot even shiver when it is
cold.

Wolves have dark, brown eyes. Wolves sometimes have
been made blind by the snow.
Their favourite food is Musk Oxen however
they are omnivores – this means they eat meat
and plants.
Arctic wolves live in the Arctic circle very close to north pole.

Arctic wolves are very friendly towards each other, they wag their
tails and lick each other.
Amazon Parrots usually have bright
green and blue feathers, with splashes
of other dazzling colours.
They grow up to 30-38cm and weight
from 250- 650g and have strong
curved beak.
Parrots are omnivores. Does anyone know
what an omnivore eats?
They work together as a team to find food.
They live where there are lots of
trees, warm deep holes and inside
of trunks in woodlands.
They travel a long way to find food
and never go on the ground.
Did you know an
Amazon parrot has
the same
intelligence as a 3
years old child.
The giant panda has very thick and white fur. Giant pandas weigh up to 140 kilograms
which is the same as two teachers!
They love to eat bamboo shoots however
they sometimes eat meat as well, such as
small animals, like fish and insects.
Giant pandas live high in the
mountains of China. They
make homes in forests far
away from towns and
villages.
Did you know Pandas have
been on the earth over 3
