The Science of
cheerleading
By: Jahomi Fuentes
Class: 808
Introduction to Science of
cheerleading
• I choose
cheerleading
because is a fun
sport and its
entertaining, its
also a good way
to exercise.
Potential Energy
• In my topic
potential energy
is when one of
the girls is waiting
to announce the
team there on. Or
when there on
the top of a
pyramid.
Kinetic Energy
• In my topic
kinetic energy is
when the
members of the
team are sheering
for the team that
is playing any
kind of sport.
Digestive System
• In my topic
cheerleading you
need to eat
healthy to move
around. The
digestive system
help them digest
the food.
Respiratory System
• In my topic the
respiratory system
helps cheerleaders
breath, so they have
energy and don’t get
tired easily. But if
you smoke your
lungs are going to
get damage.
Circulatory System
• In these topic the
circulatory system
is important
because it helps
pump blood to
the heart so they
could be
energetic and
strong.
Excretory System
• The excretory
system is what
help cheerleading
team members
sweat and cool of
so they feel
better and take
out the salt in the
body
Muscular System
• Muscle is what
help cheerleaders
make there
performances in
public. That is
way they need
muscle.
Electric Energy
• Electric energy is
like when a
cheerleader is
really exited and
moving a lot.
Energy Transformation
• In cheerleading
energy helps
them move and
do tricks
Conserving Energy
• In cheerleading
energy is help full
because they need
light in the stadium
or wherever they
are and energy
powers up there
cheerleading space.
Newton’s 1st Law of
Motion
• What is Newton’s 1st
Law of Motion?
• How does Newton’s
Law of Motion
happen in your
sport? Think- what is
moving in your sport
and how does
friction affect it?
Newton’s 2nd Law of
Motion
• What is Newton’s
2nd Law of Motion?
• How does Newton’s
2nd Law of Motion
affect your sport?
Think- does more or
less force cause the
ball or player to
accelerate more?
Newton’s 3rd Law of
Motion
• What is Newton’s
3rd Law of
Motion?
• How does
Newton’s 3rd Law
of Motion affect
your sport?
Think- how does
this law help us
stand on ground?
Machines
• Describe 2 simple
and complex
machines that
help your
athletes. How do
they work, use
energy & force,
and help your
athletes?
Conclusion
• Summarize how
science is related
to your sport.
Use energy, body
systems, and
force in your
answer.
