COM PORT Redirector Software for Serial Servers
SERIAL IP for Serial Servers
Using Tactical’s Serial/IP® client software, any windows-based PC can transparently access shared serial lines across
a TCP/IP network. This unique client only COM Port redirector software may be used with virtually any TCP/IPbased serial server and currently operates with over 25 serial
server manufacturers. Support of COM Port Control enables
devices running proprietary protocols to use control signals to
simulate interrupts and other functions. The auto-reconnect
feature provides a selectable keep alive connection for
selective data collection and control applications.
Access Remote Serial devices
Applications that in the past communicated directly with a
Serial/IP
physical communication port or serial line device can now be
used over a TCP/IP network with Serial/IP. By creating
virtual COM ports on the PC, Serial/IP redirects the communications from the virtual COM port to an IP address and
port number on a serial server that connects the serial line device to the network. The application can communicate
with many devices anywhere on the network at the same time.
