TAP Series All Optical TAP Switch v8x1 series | v8x2 series SPAN INLINE Benefits Optical TAP Switch TAP switching of up to 8 inline or SPAN networks The All Optical TAP Switch allows selectable monitoring of any one of 8 inline or SPAN network streams. The TAP has 1 or 2 separate outputs which can be used at the same time. Remote management via Telnet, HTTP, and SNMP Total visibility; complete data capture at full line rates Total stealth; TAP shields monitoring device from intruder More access to the network Features Available in span or inline configuration Graphical user interface (HTTP/HTTPS) Infield upgradable 8 inline network port pairs or 8 SPAN Ports Up to 2 monitor ports The network to be monitored is selected locally through the front panel push-button or a serial port console and can also be selected remotely via a Telnet console, any Web browser or an SNMP manager. The serial and TCP/IP connections also allow diagnostic and management data to be viewed such as port connect speeds, activity and duplex settings. Automated time-sequenced stepping between ports can also be performed over the control interfaces. The remote management feature enables a user to manage an enterprise infrastructure of TAPs from a single and central location. For inline, each of the 8 network port pairs allows fail-safe uninterrupted pass-through of data over fiber optical cable. The network connection will not be interrupted or otherwise disrupted during a power failure or during the monitoring process. The Optical TAP Switch, requiring no electrical conversion of the network or monitoring data, offers several key advantages to the user. Namely that the network data can be of any protocol and operate at any speed, making it suitable for almost every fiber network.
