250 Word Biography
Timothy A. Corpus is an internationally performed composer who calls Chicago home. His music has
been performed on four continents by a variety of ensembles including the Palomar Ensemble,
Roosevelt University, Fulcrum Point, Concorde Ensemble and Vox Novus. Highlights also include
performances at the Kennedy Center and Museum of Modern Art in New York City and Carnegie Hall.
In addition to concerts, Timothy has been featured in the Connecticut Historical Society, Classical King
FM: Second Inversion, CNN Money and 98.7 WFMT.
A recipient of awards and commissions, he was selected for a 3Arts Project in 2014 and has received
awards from ASCAP, Chicago Department of Cultural Affairs and Special Events and the Illinois Arts
Council. He has also received funding for his research on Filipino composer Lucio D. San Pedro. In 2013
he became a member of the Vic Firth Education Team and currently contributes articles to Chicago
Stage Standard and Sequenza 21.
Timothy earned his bachelor of music degree in percussion performance from the Chicago College of
Performing Arts at Roosevelt University. In 2012, he received a master of music degree in music
composition from The Hartt School at the University of Hartford.
Timothy A. Corpus is a member of the American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers and the
Percussive Arts Society. His works are published by Attacca Publishing. He is currently the Drumline
Instructor at Loyola University Chicago and Education Coordinator for the Northwest Indiana
Symphony Orchestra.
