Today, Monday, August 3, a press conference is held in Taranto for the promotion of the national debut of the Titanic Live Concert, a work composed by the leader of the legendary Bee Gees. It is one of a kind show, born from the genius of Robin Gibb and his desire to excite and involve the audience through classical music, experimenting with new forms of musical expression such as Classical Pop. This event, which will see Taranto protagonist with the first staging of a national tour being organized there, has received the patronage of the Municipality and of the Province of Taranto. The Gibb family, Dwina Murphy Gibb and his son Robin John, co-‐author of the music, have met the press together with the production in the picturesque setting of the Pantaleo Building in Taranto. Other participating speakers were: Pasquale Fasano representing “Cus Jonico”(managing agency of the Palamazzola) facility manager of the venue that will host the event; Cesare Natale and Daniela Lelli, responsible for the "Falanthra Association and Matteo Schinaia moderator of the press conference and media partner of "Taranto Eventi". After the welcome and thanks offered to the Gibb family, the artistic aspect of the show was detailed. The director of the artistic production of the Titanic Live Concert, has particularly described the show, explaining how the choice of Taranto was made with the heart (in consideration of her local origin). Nevertheless adding that it was also an artistic choice, offering an opportunity to local musicians of talent who will accompany national and international soloists during the execution of the event. The orchestra, Lucia added, will be composed of 60 elements complemented by a 40 elements strong choir. It was then highlighted with pride how it is the first time that an event of this magnitude starts off from the south of the country and from Taranto particularly Afterwards RJ Gibb answered questions from journalists, explaining the reasons behind the choice of both the theme of the show and of city from which to begin the tour. RJ, composer of the songs of this spectacle, has defined the Titanic Requiem as a chance to commemorate the 1517 victims of the shipwreck, an event that had always touched his father. The celebration of the centennial of the tragedy of the Titanic in fact, had inspired Robin Gibb, who conceived a performance event without precedents, by joining Classical Pop genre with the advanced technology of holograms, offering audiences a unique event. During the press conference, there was an emotional moment, when RJ remembered his departed father and the work done together with love, side by side, the passion and commitment that has characterized the entire construction of the project. RJ declared therefore that the Titanic Live Concert is also a way to pay homage to the memory of his father, who passed away right on the evening before the world premiere in London at Central Hall Westminster with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra. The Gibb family, who are in Italy and particularly in the Puglia Region for the first time, have expressed how enthusiastic they are about the city of Taranto and how very pleased they are with the choice of starting the tour there. Both feel bound to this land, which they consider charming and beautiful. In regard to this, they expressed the desire to return on the occasion of the tour’s debut performance to be held on 23 October at Taranto’s Palamazzola. After RJ’s intervention, the floor was taken by Cesare Natale and Daniela Lelli, who are in charge of the non-‐profit Association Falanthra of Taranto which is committed to promoting cultural and charitable activities of particular importance, such as the Alzheimer's project . The Titanic Live Concert, will also be an opportunity, in line with the philosophy of the Gibb family who always pay much attention to social issues and benevolent activities, to support Falanthra and the Alzheimer Project, by donating part of the proceeds from the sales of tickets to this important initiative. Daniela and Cesare have written a very emotional letter to the Gibb family, presenting to them the Alzheimer's Project at its core: being close to the affected families, helping them to rebuild an equilibrium in their lives that are strained every day. Finally, the technical details for the sale of tickets to the show were provided. The sale channels will be predominantly Box Office, the Palamazzola, Falanthra and their affiliate, Ciao Tickets with both local sale points and online sale.
