MUSE MACHINE IN-SCHOOL PERFORMANCE INTRODUCTION DAYON OPERA: SHAKESPEARE SINGS! Dayton Opera is here to present “Shakespeare Sings!” “Shakespeare Sings!” moves quickly, making connections between Shakespeare and opera. Many opera composers have been inspired by the words, characters and situations in Shakespeare’s plays. Ever wondered what “Romeo and Juliet” would sound like if they SANG their famous lines to each other? Well, you’ll get to hear one opera composer’s answer to this question. The songs in “Shakespeare Sings!” are grouped by BIG IDEAS: It starts with “Party Music,” then it’s “Love Scenes,” “Death Scenes” and finally – COMEDY. Today’s performers are four talented young singers in Dayton Opera’s Artists-In-Residence Program. They were selected from national auditions and are committed to singing opera as their career. Please join me in welcoming the Dayton Opera to our school!
