INTERN POSTION/POSTING DESCRIPTION Position Title: Urban College Marketing Rep Organization: G-Unit Records Inc. / G-Note Records Department: Promotions/Marketing Number of Openings: 2 Start Date: October 2013 End Date: April 2014 Work Schedule: Mon-Fri Hours per week: 10-15 Company Profile: G-Unit Records, founded in 2003 by rapper 50 Cent is an American record label specializing in hip hop, upon its inception, it operated as a subsidiary of, and was distributed through, Universal Music Group’s Interscope Records. In August 2010, the label added an additional distribution with EMI; however, it still maintains a distribution with Interscope. G-Unit Records has a subsidiary label called G-Note Records that caters to other genres of music including R&B, dance and pop. Position Description: The Marketing Intern will be responsible for grassroots marketing, event planning, and assisting the creative services and new media team with thisis50.com. Learning Outcomes: By the end of the internship, the intern will learn how to: Promote G-Unit/G-Note’s Artists to current and potential listeners. Create and execute new marketing initiatives through research and with the support of G-Unit/GNote staff. Identify, understand and utilize professional marketing strategies. Work with diverse populations in cross-cultural or multicultural settings. Manage deadlines for projects through regular and ongoing communication. Qualifications: Strong verbal and written communication skills Upper-class undergraduate students majoring in marketing, business, entertainment or related field. Familiarity with various social media outlets and related marketing strategies. Knowledge of music industry a plus. Candidates with experience in event planning and/or who have interest in event planning.
