Company Profile: G-Unit Records, founded in 2003 by rapper 50 Cent is an American record label
specializing in hip hop, upon its inception, it operated as a subsidiary of, and was distributed
through, Universal Music Group’s Interscope Records. In August 2010, the label added an additional
distribution with EMI; however, it still maintains a distribution with Interscope. G-Unit Records has a
subsidiary label called G-Note Records that caters to other genres of music
including R&B, dance and pop.
Position Description: The Marketing Intern will be responsible for grassroots marketing, event planning,
and assisting the creative services and new media team with thisis50.com.
Learning Outcomes:
By the end of the internship, the intern will learn how to:
 Promote G-Unit/G-Note’s Artists to current and potential listeners.
 Create and execute new marketing initiatives through research and with the support of G-Unit/GNote staff.
 Identify, understand and utilize professional marketing strategies.
 Work with diverse populations in cross-cultural or multicultural settings.
 Manage deadlines for projects through regular and ongoing communication.
Qualifications:
 Strong verbal and written communication skills
 Upper-class undergraduate students majoring in marketing, business, entertainment or related
field.
 Familiarity with various social media outlets and related marketing strategies.
 Knowledge of music industry a plus.
 Candidates with experience in event planning and/or who have interest in event planning.
 Minimum GPA of 3.0 preferred
