#9305 - Changing The Default Operating System with LILO
This document will describe how to change the default bootup operating system. After installing
Corel® LINUX® onto its own partition, Linux is the default OS.
By default, Corel LINUX will configure LILO (LInux LOader) to be the default OS that the
system will boot into.
NOTE: All instructions are case sensitive.
To change the default to Windows, follow these steps:
•
•
Open a console window by clicking on the console icon in the taskbar.
Type lilo -D MS_Windows and press enter.
After a few seconds you should be back at the prompt. MS Windows is now the default at
boot-up. If you wish to change the default back to Corel LINUX, follow these steps:
•
•
Open a console window by clicking on the console icon in the taskbar.
Type lilo -D []_{} and press enter.
For more information on LILO and the various switches that can be used with it, type man lilo at
a console prompt.
