an environmentally sustainable and energy-efficient event
The Iren Group is the official partner and technical supplier of Terra Madre Salone del
Gusto, the most important international event dedicated to the culture of
gastronomy, which will be held in Turin from 22 to 26 September.
The multi-utility company will lend its know-how and expertise to the design,
implementation and coordination of services such as electricity distribution, energy
efficiency and management of the integrated waste recycling system for the duration of the
event.
To mark this historic edition of Salone del Gusto and Terra Madre, which for the first time
will directly involve squares, streets and parks in the city of Turin, the Iren Group will work
closely with the organisers in order to offer the hundreds of thousands of expected visitors
a wholly sustainable event in terms of energy efficiency and respect for the environment.
Since the design phases of the services, the Iren group has focused on the most advanced
technologies available for the collection and management of waste during big events,
ensuring a high percentage of waste separation as proof of the project’s high
environmental worth.
The extensive experience of Amiat, an Iren Group company which operates in the field of
environmental hygiene and waste collection, after collaboration for previous editions of the
Salone del Gusto Terra Madre events, will form the starting point on which to base the
design of the services required by the 2016 edition.
The Iren Group will also be able to count on the extraordinary and positive experience of
Campovolo 2015, when as part of the Ligabue super concert held in Reggio Emilia
(attended by 150 thousand fans) specific technical and communication measures were
adopted in order to reduce waste by the public as much as possible and to achieve the
collection of significant quantities of separated waste.
