A request to those faithful and fortunate ones who delight in pure actions of
virtue:
Although several years have passed since the Dri Thubten Dargye Ling Dharma
Center was founded in Singapore, an assembly hall and place of residence has not
been established. This not only creates difficulties for the disciples, but in order for
the center to become a stable place, I believe that a physical building is crucial for
the Dharma center. I consider the establishment of Dharma centers in foreign
countries of greatest importance. This is because all welfare and happiness comes
about depending on virtuous actions, not just by wishing for them. Thus, the
teachings offered at Dharma centers can bring about the temporary and ultimate
welfare and happiness for many beings.
Because of this, with hope that this Dharma Center becomes a central place for
Buddhist study and practice, I act supportively as much as I can. Thus, I am also
extending my request to you to offer your support by making your illusory material
wealth meaningful in whichever way you can. If you are able to help, the benefits are
tremendous. Supporting the Buddha's teachings to spread and increase in a place
where they have not, is greater than offering support in a place where the Buddha's
teaching have already spread and flourished. For this reason, as this is very
meaningful, it is important that I request my disciples and Dharma companions to
offer your support. Thus, by all means I am humbly requesting your virtuous
support with continuous prayers.
