The Snap 2013 Activation Code comes with the textbooks when you purchase them in the bookstore. You will also need an Enrollment Key which is detailed in the syllabus. Once you have these to items, follow these instructions to create your Snap account: 1. 2. 3 4. 5. 6. 7. 8. You will also need to download and install a Snap web browser plug-in from the following web page: http://snap2013.emcp.com/player/SnapSetup.exe Link and help also available at main Snap 2013 web page http://snap2013.emcp.com/ http://response.emcp.com/SNAP2013/Help/GettingStarted/SNAP2013_GettingStarted.htm Your registration and enrollment in the Snap 2013 web site is now complete. A 17 day trial period for Snap 2013 is available if you have not received your financial aid or are not able to purchase the access code immediately. If you don’t purchase your textbooks in the bookstore, you can buy the Snap 2013 account separately from the following web site: http://paradigm.emcp.com/snap-training-and-assessment-2013.html You will be completing most of your homework in Snap 2013 (excluding Discussion Board posts which are done in the Edmodo web site). Overall, the Snap web site is very simple. Nearly all of your class work, files, homework and tutorials are on one linear page, ordered week-by-week, that you can scroll through. In others words, everything is in one place (remembering that you will email me, read announcements, and complete discussion board assignments in Edmodo). Snap is organized by “Topics” (e.g. Microsoft Windows, ODW Chapter 1, Microsoft Word, etc.) and new topics will become available to you as the semester progresses (see Weekly Schedule later in syllabus). All of your grades are available from the Grade button in the top right. 24 hour/day x 7 day/week Online Chat Support is available for the Snap web site at the following web site address (click Live Help button at very top of the web page): http://support.emcp.com/ Microsoft Office 2013. A number of your assignments will require that you to use Microsoft Office 2013. Because of this, a price discounted 180-day fully-functioning trial version should be available in the bookstore. If you already have a full version of Microsoft Office 2010 installed on your computer, you may still want to install Office 2013 as it will work better for the class, but be sure you perform a custom install of Office 2013 and do not overwrite your Office 2010 software as the Office 2013 software will expire in 180 days and you still want to be able to use your Office 2010 when the class is over. If you do not get a 180-day trial version of Microsoft Office 2013 in the bookstore and do not have Office 2013 on your home computer or laptop, you can use any computer in our T-194 Open Computer Lab in the Technology Building to complete these assignments. You can also use Microsoft Office 2013 on a friend's computer or work computer. Other word processing software such as Microsoft Works or Word Perfect will not work and cannot be accepted. Additionally, student and teacher discounted Microsoft Office can be purchased from either of the following two web sites: http://www.microsoftstore.com/store/msusa/en_US/edu http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/buy-microsoft-office-home-student-2013-FX102918374.aspx 4.
