Use of Licensed Vendor: Policy and Agreement
Alpha Xi Delta Fraternity’s name and symbols are as important to our Fraternity as your own family
name is to you. In fact, our name and symbols are among our most valuable assets, for they
represent the core values of our Fraternity – sisterhood, leadership, knowledge and service. They
are our promise to everyone we touch – collegians, alumnae, volunteers, constituents in the Greek
community and the community at large – of staying true to our ideals and maintaining the strong
reputation and goodwill of our organization. When people see our name and symbols, we want
them to know they stand for one of the oldest and best women’s Greek organizations in the
United States.
Using Licensed Vendors
All Alpha Xi Delta marks are the Fraternity’s property, which means any organization or business
using our name and marks MUST have our permission to do so. This way we can make sure that
the marks are used in the proper manner, on quality merchandise, and that Alpha Xi Delta is
represented in a positive manner. If vendors do not obtain permission for using our marks, they are
breaking the law.
Licensing benefits members, chapters and the organization alike. Working with licensed vendors
means you’ll get only the best products at reasonable prices. Using licensed vendors also provides a
royalty income that supports Alpha Xi Delta’s educational programs and services.
Additionally, as a member, Alpha Xi Deltas are obligated to purchase products for a licensed
vendor.

“Members of Alpha Xi Delta shall obtain items bearing the Fraternity’s official insignia, and
any items or products bearing a designation or representation of the Membership Badge,
Coat of Arms, Greek letters, Name or other trademark of the Fraternity, only from those
persons or companies specifically authorized by the National Council or its designee.

The name Alpha Xi Delta and all of our marks such as the Coat of Arms, Greek symbols, the Quill
and such are all trademarked.

Identifying Licensed Vendors
How do you know if a vendor is licensed? Licensed vendors should display the Greek
Licensed Product mark shown at the left of this page. You can also view our licensed
vendor list at www.greeklicensing.com or www.alphaxidelta.org/licensedvendors.
Appropriate Use/Quality Control
Products and services containing the name and images of Alpha Xi Delta help to define the public
perception of our organization. We are proud of our Fraternity values and want to ensure that all
products purchased for by any chapter fall within the following quality control rules. These rules
apply to any licensed product or service utilizing the name Alpha Xi Delta, and any Alpha Xi Delta
mark or symbol. These include, but are not limited to, the following categories of products:
 apparel (shirts, shorts, jackets, etc.)
 publications (flyers, manuals, news releases, banners, manuals, posters, newspaper
articles/advertisements)
 glassware
 party favors (cups, frames, key chains, etc.)
 slogans
 computer web pages
Products may not contain the following:
 any depiction of alcohol, alcoholic beverage use, kegs, beer cans, alcohol bottles, beer
bongs, brand names, or depiction of the sale of alcohol;
 any depiction in a demeaning way of minorities, ethnicities, religious groups or cultural
segments;
 any depiction of men or women in demeaning way;
 any depiction of drugs, drug use, drug slogans or slang words, or drug paraphernalia;
 any depictions relating to sex, sexual paraphernalia, or sexual orientation;
 any use of profanity;
 any use of licensed or copyrighted characters, phrases, logos, or materials without
permission from the property owner (infringements are punishable under federal copyright
laws).
I have read and understand Alpha Xi Delta Fraternity’s Use of Licensed Vendor Policy and
Agreement. As a member of Alpha Xi Delta, I understand it is my obligation to use a
licensed Alpha Xi Delta vendor when purchasing a product with Alpha Xi Delta’s marks.
In addition, as chapter president, I understand it is my obligation to educate my chapter
on this policy and ensure all products with Alpha Xi Delta’s marks purchased by my
chapter are obtained through licensed vendors only.
