RIGOL Ultra Power Analyzer is a software application of the RIGOL
DS4000 series, MSO4000 series and DS2000 series Digital/Mixed
Signal Oscilloscopes. It can be used to analyze the Switch-Mode
Power Supply (SMPS). This application can be run on Windows XP,
Windows Vista and Windows 7 operating systems.

Main Features
Power quality analysis
The power quality characteristics of the power supply reflect the “health”
condition of the power supply.
As the switch-mode power supply adds a non-linear load to the mains
supply, the voltage and current waveforms are different and the input
current waveform would contain harmonics.
This power quality measurement is required, to test the power
consumption and distortion on the mains supply. RIGOL Ultra Power
Analyzer provides common power quality measurement.
Current harmonics analysis
The input current waveform contains harmonics. Nowadays, most of the
AC-DC power supply design should conform to the EN61000-3-2 current
harmonic standard which specifies the limit of each order of harmonic for
different class of device.
Ultra Power Analyzer supports the pre-testing for all four classes of
devices and supports the measurements of up to 40 orders of harmonics.
Online/Offline Mode
In the online mode, it is possible to store the data in a
file and to create a test report in html format.
In the offline mode waveform data can be imported.

Output analysis
The measurement results provide the peak-peak value, maximum,
minimum as well as the frequency corresponding to the maximum
amplitude in the spectrum analysis of the AC component of the output
signal.
Inrush current analysis
When the switch-mode power supply is turned on, the filter capacitance
at the input terminal is equivalent to a transient short circuit and will
generate a current with short rise time.
The inrush current function is used to analyze the power-on waveform of
the switch-mode power supply.
Modulation analysis
The switch power supply usually uses feedback control loop to stabilize
the output voltage.
The modulation analysis is mainly used to analyze the characteristics of
the control loop of the switch power supply.
Power device analysis
Switch loss is the most important and difficult test item of the switchmode power supply test, because the accuracy of the measurement
result can only be ensured when the real switch point is recognized.
Ultra Power Analyzer allows users to set the switch level and calculate
the loss according to this level.

With this PC Software the Programmable DC Power
Supply of the DP1000 series can be controlled from
the PC.
It contains of a virtual panel of Power Supply’s
front panel. The channels can be switched on and
off, values for current, voltage and resistance can
be set.
The current wave can be displayed.
The Timer and Track function of the DP1000 series
cannot be set with the software.

RIGOL Ultra Scope software is a tool for controlling a RIGOL
DS1000D/E series, DS1000Z series or DS1000B series Digital
Oscilloscope and to download measured data from the device. The
current waveform could be downloaded to the software application to
analyze the measured data with the help of different tools. It is also
possible to just download the values into a table or to download
measurement data and do a Pass/Fail test with various settings. The
software can also open earlier recorded waveforms to do some
analysis. To control the Digital Oscilloscope the settings can be
downloaded from the device or uploaded to the device by the

Main Features
It is possible to control the Digital Oscilloscope from the PC by using
either the DSO controller Menu, or by using the virtual panel of the
Ultra Scope.
After the settings have been made, they can be uploaded to the Digital
Oscilloscope.
If the settings on the device should be saved as a file they can be
downloaded and saved as *.rmt files.
To analyze the measured data, Data Sheets can be created Following

When using Data, up to 600 measurements can be loaded into one table
with the columns Time [s] and Voltage [V].
If a Wave is downloaded from the Digital Oscilloscope it is possible to set
cursors (x and y axis) and to save the data as *.bmp file.
In the Measure function the data to measure can be downloaded from
the device and saved as *.xls or *.txt files. For every measure type
Pass/Fail test can be done.
With the Record function a former waveform in kind of *.rcd files can
be open for analysis and it can be saved as a *.bmp file.
Memory Wave is a function to open saved *.wmf waveforms. Cursors
can be set and the data can be exported to *.csv and *.bmp files


Main Features
Every project in RIGOL Ultra Sensor contains of three windows.
The first window is the Edit Data window, in this window already
existing data can be opened (as *.csv or *.txt files) and edited. But
also completely new data can be entered.
The second window is Reference Curve. A curve with the setting of
Edit Data is shown. The reference curve can be exported as a *.bmp
file.
The last window is the Measure Curve. Here the real time measured
waveform of the Digital Multimeter is displayed. The waveform can be
replayed after it has been recorded and it can also be exported as a *.txt
or*.csv file and so used as a future reference curve.
Arbitrary Sensor establishes a relationship table between the inputs and
the outputs as the basis of the edited characteristic curve of the sensor,
coverts the measured inputs into corresponding physical quantities and
then the output curve can be fitted by choosing “Line” or “Least” from the
arithmetic options.


RIGOL Ultra Station software is a tool for editing and creating desired
waveforms and upload them to a RIGOL DG5000 series, DG4000
series or DG1000Z series Function/Arbitrary Waveform Generator. A
waveform can be created by insert one of the 10 standard waveforms,
entering the formula of the waveform to the Formula Editor* or by
drawing it with the different drawing functions of Ultra Station. It can be
selected on which channel of the DG the upload should be send and
whether the device should directly perform an output on this channel.
