Employing the latest technologies and superior design the LIGHT*WAND® music stand light was
designed to provide the highest quality and safest LED music stand light for professional musicians.
LED (Light Emitting Diode) Technology provides a product that utilises its well known benefits of long
life (in excess of 10 continuous years use) and very low heat output thus avoiding burns from
conventional lighting. When combined with Bead*light® Technologies (patents pending) the light
output becomes even and glare-free which is easy on the eye when adapting from music score to conductor and back and also, the eye
is not drawn to any bright spots on the score, as there are none!
Developed with professional musicians the design dealt with the quality of the light as the paramount objective. The colour of the light is
close to daylight; after all, the eye has evolved over millions of years in daylight and this in turn provides high definition colour reflection.
The colour prevents yellowing of the score as experienced with 19th Century incandescent technology and the score reflects increased
legibility without the need to increase the light level. The light contains a blue tint scientifically chosen for its beneficial effect on human
eyesight. Professional musicians benefit from this as blue is the colour least likely to cause eye fatigue (red is the worst). Furthermore,
white with a tint of blue is the colour acknowledged by the scientific community, which contributes to human concentration. Essential for
professionals.
The lamp, designed with quality and style in mind, has a slim profile and the lamp head shroud is designed to avoid light spillage
ensuring that the light is kept on the score and not into the eye line of the audience, conductor or fellow professionals. The shroud is
manufactured from aluminium which, combined with the advanced thermal management, ensures the lamp head unit operates at or
about 6oC above ambient, avoiding accidental burns. A universal clamp ensures that the lamp fits most makes of music stand.
Using techniques and technologies principally developed by Telectra for the aerospace industry and in addition to the incorporation of
Bead*light® Technologies and the advanced thermal management, the product also comprises on-board current control to avoid light
fluctuation which could disturb the musician.
The product is available as a mains version or battery controlled. The battery version is safe for outdoor use and it can provide power for
in excess of 10 hours. The recharge unit that comes with the battery box has a “soft start” facility to check for possible battery faults,
senses the charge to bring the battery back to full capacity and delivers it. It also contains short circuit and high temperature protection.
The product is a “Class 1 LED product” (the safest category of LED lighting) classified under the International / European Standard IEC
60825-1:2001 / EN 60825-1:2001.

For Conductor and Musical Director alike, an extended version of the LIGHT*WAND® Music Stand
Light is available. Offering all the benefits of its smaller companion, the lamp head is 550 mm long,
compared to the 380 mm of the music stand light.
