Powercall DX-5200
200 Watt Electronic
Response Siren
New Updated Wiring Connections.
Powercall DX-5200
200 Watt Electronic
Response Siren
Thank you for your purchase of the new Powercall DX5200 Electronic Siren. This siren is
made to be hooked to ONE or TWO Speakers. The speakers need to be 100 Watts and
must be 8 Ohm or 11 ohm. We recommend 8, but 11 will work with no problems.
We have recently updated the wiring connections on the back of our siren to
help eliminate any wiring harness issues. We hope that our new connections
make it easier for you to install.
*SPK1+ and SPK1- are for one speaker, the SPK2+ and SPK2– are for the 2nd speaker.
Use at least 16 Gauge Speaker wire from the siren to the Siren Speaker. Using the SPK1
connections will get you 100 watts, using SPK1 and SPK2’s connections will give you 200
watts. DO NOT USE ONE OF THE SPK1 AND ONE OF THE SPK2 TO OBTAIN 100
WATTS. DOING THIS WILL DAMAGE THE SIREN AND IS NOT COVERED UNDER
THE POWERCALL SIREN WARRANTY.
- is for the Negative Signal. Hook this to a good grounding point inside the vehicle. Ensure
you have scraped away any primer or paint and that you have a good solid connection.
We don’t recommend going right to the battery. The Chassis ground somewhere on the
vehicle will serve you better.

+ is for the Power connection. Make sure you fuse your power and that you have a
good 12V source. Try and stay away from Low band radio power/ground connections
and stay away from any large amp drawing items, e.g. Federal Que, etc. Ensure you
have at least a 15amp Fuse inline.
Radio and Radio are for radio re-broadcast. Most commonly not used, but can be
wired to a 2-way radio to hear outside the vehicle.
Horn Ring is a MOMENTARY negative trigger use item. Touch this to ground and the
Intersection tone comes on. Touch is once again to ground to shut it off.
Phaser is a momentary negative signal trigger as well. Touch this momentarily to
ground and get your phaser tone. (Most commonly not used)
HORN RING In the Manual Mode, each time this terminal see’s a quick
ground pulse, it cycles through each tone. NEGATIVE SIGNALS ONLY.
Positive signals will damage the siren.

Product Update
Recomennded Rectifier Addition
The enclosed bridge rectifier should be
installed in-line with the sirens power
lead, closest to the siren itself.
1) Once the siren is installed, cut the RED Power lead
about 6-8” from the siren.
2) Wire the lead marked “To the Siren” to the RED wire
going into the actual siren.
3) Wire the lead marked “To the Vehicle” to the RED wire
going away from the siren to the Power Source.
4) Leave the 2 marked N/A alone.
For informative purposes, this rectifier is being installed on
the power lead to help with possible power surges that
may cause a potential overdrive of your installed siren
speaker(s). During a possible voltage spike or voltage
overdrive, the possibility of the siren power driver being
“Overdriven” has been noted. This Bridge Rectifier should
help with the possible overdrive problem, should it occur,
helping alleviate possible speaker failures.
