Available in beige or black. The single-piece Motorola FlexPass 501 proximity reader and keypad delivers read ranges up to 4 inches (10 cm) and operates from 4 to 16 VDC allowing for flexibility in the use of power supplies. In most cases, it can be powered directly from the access control panel. The reader portion can be field programmed using the ProxSmithTM Field Programmer System as well as configured to output data in either WeigandTM or magnetic stripe formats. The FlexPass 501 proximity reader makes it easy to upgrade existing sites to proximity using the wiring already in place. The keypad portion can be formatted to transmit either Wiegand data or a 3 x 4 matrix output, providing easy integration with most manufacturers’ controllers. It includes advanced performance features: QuickFlashTM for immediate user feedback, SelfTestTM for installation assistance, WatchDogTM for higher security applications requiring a supervised reader and audio tone and three color status LED. All are fieldconfigurable via the use of option cards.
